A host of leading pop and rock bands play for the Duke and
Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Princess Catherine on the day that would have been Diana, Princess of Wales's 50th birthday. After two days of official ceremonies, handshakes, gun salutes and carefully-managed walkabouts, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Princess Catherine got into the party spirit on Friday night, attending a pop concert for the finale of the Canada Day celebrations, marking the country’s 144th birthday.

It was a poignant evening for the Prince William – exactly four years ago to the day Prince William hosted another pop concert – the Concert for Diana at Wembley Stadium – in memory of Prince William's mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales, who would have turned 50 on Friday. But the
Prince William appeared to be in high spirits, as Prince William and the Duchess Princess Catherine laughed and clapped along to the performances. Towards the end of the concert, Prince William and Princess Catherine made their way to a diplomatic reception at the Canadian Foreign Office, from where Prince William and Princess Catherine watched a spectacular fireworks display lasting more than 20 minutes that illuminated much of the city.
